Getting Started

Getting started is as easy as 1... 2... 3....

  1. Employees will need to provide the Academy of Excellence basic information through our registration process and form. Click here to download. Once it is complete, email it back to us at aoe@abbconcise.com.
  2. Next, the Academy of Excellence will process registration and assign you a user name and password. This will be sent to the email address that you provided on the registration form.
  3. Login and explore the website.

Once you have your username and password, you will find that our online self-paced programs are accessible in most countries around the world and you have online resources available to you. Technology plays a key role in learning at the Academy of Excellence. As an ABB OPTICAL GROUP employee, you will use a computer to complete assignments, download course materials and work on other tasks. With this in mind, you will be expected to have access to and use the hardware and software described below.

Please note that due to the rapid rate of change in information technology, we anticipate that hardware and software competencies will be updated on a regular basis.

Computer Requirements to Use AOE:

  • Internet service provider (ISP) account
  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® version 6.0 or later
  • Adobe® Reader® 6.0 or later
  • Adobe Flash® Player

Optional Hardware & Software to get the Most when using AOE:

  • A Windows-based PC
  • Hear sound from your computer
  • Work or Personal email address, either will work just fine
  • Microsoft® Word®
  • Microsoft® PowerPoint®
  • Microsoft® Excel®

What kind of Internet browser do I need?

On Microsoft Windows-based PCs, use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer when using the AOE. On Mac OS-based Apple computers, it is recommended that you use Firefox as your Internet browser. However, there are some limitations to using any Mac OS-based Apple computers because some of the courses may not open properly.
