Long Term Disability

Disability coverage helps supplement your income during long term disability to help you pay your expenses.

If you enroll in the Long Term Disability plan, you will automatically be enrolled in the Short Term Disability plan that ABB OPTICAL GROUP pays for on your behalf. Please note, if you are a California employee, you are automatically enrolled in the California State Disability (SDI).

• 100% Employee paid
• 60% up to $10,000 per month
• Benefits begin on the 8th day of disability
• Benefits begin on the 91st day of disability

How to calculate your bi-weekly premium:

Annual Salary/12 = Monthly Salary
Monthly Salary/100 = Number Units (monthly payroll on per $100 basis)
Number Units x .60 = Total Employee Monthly Premium
Total Employee Monthly Premium x 12 / 26 = Total Employee Bi-Weekly Premium

Example: Employee earning $25,000 annually elects to purchase additional Long – Term Disability Insurance
