Medical Insurance - UMR

ABB OPTICAL GROUP offers comprehensive health coverage, at competitive prices, to meet the needs of you and your family. We offer a choice of medical plans. Each plan covers most of the same types of health services, but provides those services and shares the costs with you in a different way.

Take some time to review key highlights of the different plans below. Click on each plan name to learn more. Please note, we are no longer allowing new members into the Choice Plan. If you are currently enrolled in the plan, you may remain in the plan, however, new members are not being accepted.

Basic Plan (PPO)

  • You may receive care from any doctor or health provider.
  • Your cost of care is lower when you use In-Network providers.
  • You have a deductible to meet and then pay part of the cost for the services you receive.

HRA Core Plan

  • You may receive care from any doctor or health provider.
  • Your cost of care is lower when you use In-Network providers.
  • Company will fund reimbursement on the front end (Single: $300, Family $600).
  • You have a deductible to meet and then pay part of the cost for the services you receive.

HDHP (High Deductible Plan)

  • You may receive care from any doctor or health provider.
  • Your cost of care is lower when you use In-Network providers.
  • Funds roll over and accumulate year to year if they are not spent.
  • Funds are owned by YOU.
  • You have a deductible to meet and then pay part of the cost for the services you receive.

Important Information for Active Employees Eligible for Medicare

If you are an active employee eligible for Medicare and are choosing one of the medical insurance plans listed above, the ABB OPTICAL GROUP insurance plan will be your primary insurance coverage. You qualify for a Special Enrollment Period with Medicare, which means you can delay enrollment in Medicare Part B without penalty. You can enroll in Medicare Part B without penalty for eight months after you stop working.
